Countries

This list is updated as traveling occurs.  I have listed countries alphabetically and have noted dates and ages visited, and any significant items to note.

Australia – 1993 (17 years old, family trip that included Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) 1995 (My 18th Birthday was spent in Darwin while on Class Afloat)  Read “About” to learn what Class Afloat is.
Bahamas – 2002 (25 years old, part of a larger 6 month trip that started in South Carolina and included Florida, kayaking The Everglades and kayaking in the Bahamas.)

Barbados – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Bermuda – 1990 (13 years old, family holiday)

Brazil – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Bulgaria – 2015/16 -Same trip over xmas and New Years (39 years old, part of a larger 6 week trip that included Greece, Italy and a stop over in Amsterdam)

Canada – I am Canadian and grew up here but have also traveled coast to coast and have lived in a few different places including Canmore, Alberta, Charlottetown, PEI, Baddeck, NS, Pictou County, NS, Sechelt/Gibsons, BC, Powell River, BC.

China – 2008 (31 years old, was part of a larger 10 week trip that included Bali and Vietnam)

Cook Islands – 1999 (23 years old, was part of a larger 10 week trip that included Fiji, Tonga and New Zealand)

Costa Rica – 2003/04 -(27 years old, 4 months from October to February while mostly living in Nicaragua at the time.)

Cuba – 1990 (13 years old, school spring break trip)

Dominican Republic – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

England – Multiple times as a youngster visiting grandparents.  Went in 1992 with a girlfriend over spring break. (16 years old.)

Fiji – 1999/2000 – (23 years old, spent two weeks over the Millennium New Years on Wayalailai in the Yasawa group of Islands.  This was part of a larger 10 week trip that included the Cook Islands, Tonga and New Zealand.)

French Guiana -1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Greece – 2015 (39 years old, was part of a larger trip that included Bulgaria, Italy and a stop over in Amsterdam)

Guadeloupe – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Guyana – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Hong Kong – 1993 (17 years old, family trip that included Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and Sydney, Australia)  2008 (31 years old, part of a larger 10 week trip that included Mainland China, Macau, Vietnam and Bali)

Indonesia – 1994 Class Afloat (17 years old) 2008 (31 years old, visited Bali and was part of a larger 10 week trip to China, Vietnam and Hong Kong/Macau)

Italy – 2015/16 – We spent New Years in Reggio Emelia (39 years old, was part of a larger 6 week trip to Greece, Bulgaria and Amsterdam)

Kenya – 1994 – Class Afloat (18 years old, went on a 2 week safari from Mombassa to Nairobi)

Malaysia – 1993 (17 years old, family trip that included Hong Kong and Sydney, Australia)

Marshall Islands – 1994 Class Afloat (17 years old)

Mexico – 1986 (10 years old, family holiday)  2000/2001 – (24 years old, Spent 4 months through the winter driving around Mexico from Canada with my boyfriend.) 2015 (38 years old, family holiday)

Namibia – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Nauru – 1994 (17 years old, Class Afloat)

Nepal – 1982 (5 years old, my Dad was part of the Canadian Everest Expedition that was taking place at the time.) 1992 (turned 16 years old!  10 year anniversary of Everest Expedition, my family trekked to the Base Camp of Mount Everest.) 1996 (19 years old, organized another Everest Base Camp trek with 6 friends)

Netherlands – 2015 (39 years old, only overnight, but part of a greater trip that included stops in Bulgaria, Greece and Italy.)

New Zealand – 2000 (23 years old, part of a larger 10 week trip that included Tonga, Fiji and the Cook Islands.)

Nicaragua – 2003/2004 – (27 years old, 4 month trip October to February.  Lived mostly in San Juan del Sur.)

Puerto Rico – numerous stays over in Puerto Rico while en-route to family holidays in the British and US Virgin Islands as a teenager.

Seychelles – 1994 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Singapore – 1992 (turned 16 years old!), 1996 (19 years old, part of a larger 5 week trip that went to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp.) 2008 (31 years old, stop over while on a larger 10 week trip to Vietnam, China and Bali)

Solomon Islands – 1994 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

South Africa – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat, I flew to South Africa by myself from North America to meet the ship after Christmas and New Years.)

St Kitts and Nevis – 1992 (16 years old, family holiday) 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

St. Lucia – 1995 (18 years old, Class Afloat)

Thailand – 1982 (6th birthday celebrated in a Bangkok 2 day stopover coming back home from Nepal)

Tonga – 2000 (23 years old, part of a larger 10 week trip that included Fiji, New Zealand, and the Cook Islands.)

United States of America – I have traveled extensively (mostly by vehicle) throughout the mainland USA covering all of the East Coast States, West Coast States, Utah, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, Texas, and a few others just passing through.  I have also been to Hawaii on numerous occasions visiting The Big Island, Maui, Kauai, and Oahu.

Venezuela – 1989 (12 years old, family holiday, sailed across the Carribean Sea from St. Thomas, USVI to Cumana, Venezuela.)

Vietnam – 2008 (31 years old, part of a larger 10 week trip to Bali, China, Hong Kong and Macau)

Virgin Islands (US) – for many years we had family holidays in the British and US Virgin Islands over Xmas and New Years.

Wales – 1977 (less than a year, first trip overseas to visit grandparents and dad’s family members) 1992 (16 years old, spent spring break with a girlfriend traveling in England and Wales visiting family members.)
